Meet your officiant

Dr. Doug, if we're being formal. But nobody is.

I've been officiating weddings along the Gulf Coast and beyond since 2015, helping couples create ceremonies that sound like them and feel true to what they believe.

Doug sharing a playful moment with a couple after their wedding ceremony Sacred ceremony. Serious joy.

A ceremony written for the two of you — not pulled off a shelf, although I can do that as well.

In the years I've been officiating, I've stood beside hundreds of couples on their most important day, from quiet elopements at sunrise to full ballroom celebrations with three hundred guests watching.

My academic background is in comparative theology and religious studies. I spend as much time studying how different traditions — Christian, Jewish, secular, interfaith, and beyond — understand love, covenant, and the sacred as I do studying how to write a genuinely good ceremony.

That background isn't just a credential; it's how I work. It means I can write a ceremony deeply rooted in a specific faith tradition and get the language and rituals right, and just as easily write one that's entirely secular and still feels meaningful — or blend two traditions for a couple who come from different backgrounds and want both honored.

Before I write a word, we talk. I ask about how you met, what's made your relationship work, what you're nervous about, and what you want your guests to feel. Then, depending on what you want, I either write a ceremony built entirely from that conversation or help you pick and personalize one of my proven ceremonies. Either way, it's delivered like it matters. Because it does.

Ceremonies are sacred. Taking myself too seriously is optional — ask anyone who's seen the “other” photo from their ceremony.

Let's talk about your ceremony.

Tell me your date, venue, and what you want the moment to feel like. I'll let you know if I'm available and how we can make it yours.
